Yiddish Radio Back for 3rd Season!

Yiddish Radio Image with microphone

Yiddish Radio is back on the air for it’s 3rd season! The Center for Languages, Literatures and Cultures’ (CLLC) program provides kibitzing at it’s finest.  Unapologetically Yinglishy, we celebrate the humor, music, and pop culture gems we find from the past, present, and future of Yiddish language and culture around the world.  Yiddish Radio deejays broadcast in English and provide translation when necessary so everyone is welcome to join.

Yiddish Radio was born in 2012 from a dusty box of old records forgotten until a student of Yiddish rediscovered the possible treasure within. With support and elbow grease provided from The Melton Center for Jewish Studies, Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures, and the CLLC, the new team worked diligently to clean, digitize and restore the sound to broadcast quality in order to share these original examples with listeners from all over the world tuning in live or downloading podcasts from our archive
