The nationally known OSU Graduate Associate Teacher Training Workshop sponsored by the Center for Languages, Literatures and Cultures and OSU’s world language departments serves as the beginning of a continued process of professional development that will extend throughout the careers of world language teaching associates at The Ohio State University.
The lectures, teaching practicum sessions, and materials presented in the morning sessions are complemented by afternoon sessions that are department specific. Together, this experience provides GTAs with the basic tools and understandings that they need to begin their careers as instructors of university-level language and culture. The Center for Languages, Literatures and Cultures and the departments continue to provide professional development opportunities, training and supervision throughout the graduate programs of our GTAs.
