Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Language Instruction Training

The nationally known OSU Language Instruction Training Workshop sponsored by the Center for Languages, Literatures and Cultures and OSU’s world language departments serves as the beginning of a continued process of professional development that will extend throughout the careers of world language teaching associates at The Ohio State University.

The lectures, teaching practicum sessions, and materials presented in the morning sessions are complemented by afternoon sessions that are department specific.  Together, this experience provides GTAs and Associated Faculty with the basic tools and understandings that they need to begin their careers as instructors of university-level language and culture.  The Center for Languages, Literatures and Cultures and the departments continue to provide professional development opportunities, training and supervision throughout the graduate programs of our GTAs and Associated Faculty.
