Loann Crane Advanced Language Institute

The Loann Crane Advanced Language Institute Endowment Fund was established in April 2014 with gifts from the Crane family. The CLLC is happy to announce a variety of initiatives that are now available thanks to this endowment. The endowment supports the Certificate in Translation and Interpretation and provides start-up funding for a teacher-training program in American Sign Language. Also supported are three categories of scholarships, descriptions and application forms for which can be found here. The endowment will also fund the development of four courses from four different departments at the 4000 or 5000-level (the latter preferred). The goal of the courses is to provide career training, either focused on a particular career or more generally on culture-specific leadership/professionalization training in the target language to undergraduate students and graduate students interested in alternative careers. For more information, please contact the Director of the CLLC, Janice M. Aski.1.
