Congratulations to Chelsea Lam, NSEP Boren Scholarship Recipient
Chelsea Lam has been selected to receive the 2026 National Security Education Program (NSEP) David L. Boren Scholarship to study Vietnamese through the Southeast Asian Flagship Languages Initiative (SEAFLI). She will first study at a domestic summer program through the University of Wisconsin before her studies continue in Hanoi, Vietnam. Chelsea majors in Computer Information Science and minors in Animation. Chelsea’s previous travels have taken her to Spain, Italy and Vietnam.
Boren Scholars and Fellows pursue intensive study in a diverse set of critical languages, such as Arabic, Chinese, Portuguese, and Swahili. The Boren Awards support students at all proficiency levels who are dedicated to advancing their language abilities and preparing for careers in national security. The Ohio State University is proud to be a leading producer of NSEP Boren Scholars.
