Now on view in the Global Gallery (Hagerty Hall, Lobby) until October 16th is an exhibit about Amadeo Modigliani, Italian painter and sculptor, and his brief, but intense life. An anomaly, his work did not fit into any standard art-historical categories and he was happy to stand apart. He had little success during his life but his funeral was attended by the Who’s Who of the Paris art world: Picasso, Léger, Derain, Brancusi and hundreds more.
