Description: The U.S. Department of State’s North Central Region Diplomat in Residence Lou Fintor will discuss careers with the State Department and how you can serve your country by living and working in any one of more than 270 U.S. embassies, consulates or missions overseas, or in Washington, D.C. and other domestic locations. Career paths include Foreign Service Officer and Civil Service as well as numerous Student Program opportunities. Lou is an active Foreign Service Officer who has served as U.S. Embassy Spokesperson twice in Afghanistan (2005-2006 and 2016-2018), as well as in Pakistan, Iraq, Yemen, Kosovo and at the U.S. Mission to NATO among other overseas postings.
