In Memory of Loann Crane

Leader, patron of arts, and generous philanthropist, Loann Crane, was a major contributor to world languages at The Ohio State over many decades. Loann was an Ohio State graduate and a very generous benefactor and supporter of our undergraduate and graduate programs. She envisioned an international café in Hagerty Hall, which became a reality in 2005. The Crane Café welcomes hundreds of OSU students each day with international programming in over twelve languages.  The Crane Foundation funds the CLLC Advanced Language Institute (ALI) which has supported programming such as The Translation and Interpreting Program and accompanying certificate, core translation and interpreting courses and an ongoing lecture series. The ALI will provide advanced language courses targeted to specific discipline areas to prepare students for dynamic and impactful global careers. We remain ever grateful to Loann Crane and the gifts she has given and will continue to give to our students.
